SCS Alumni Association 2010 College Access Conference

The South Central Scholars Alumni Association first-ever conference for middle school and high school students was a great success! Thank you to all the alumni who participated as presenters and volunteers. We were able to motivate, inspire and prepare many middle school and high school students academically.

 

 

 

2010 College Access Institute

The South Central Scholars Alumni Association College Access Institute is an 8-month program for middle school students set to begin November 2010. With the help of supporters we met our meet the Freida C. Fox Foundation $15k Challenge and will move forward with our outreach program. Our aim is to increase college awareness and preparation.

The following are recent decisions or annoucements pertaining to the Alumni Association:

 

- Membership Dues for the Alumni Association were voted at $40.00 per year, due on January 1st of each fiscal year. The purchase of life-time dues will be discussed at a later time.

 

-Our Executive Committee performs overall leadership and operational management for the Alumni Association. The following six (6) positions make up the Executive Committee: (a) 2 Co-Presidents; (b) 1 Secretary; (c) 1 Treasurer; (d) 1 Outreach Director; and (e) 1 Board Liaison. Although the Executive Committe postions have been filled, the Alumni Association accepts applications for association membership throughout the year! Dues will not be required for AA membership until January 1, 2010. If you are interested in becoming a member, please go to the following link:
